Getting There

I organised this walk for a group from church and friends, 9 of us.  A first effort to 'put something back' and introduce others to the bush.  We left Weston Creek about 8.45am and drove down through Tuggeranong to Tharwa, then along the Naas Road and right into Apollo Road.  Take this to the Honeysuckle Creek camping ground at the end.

Walk

Leaving the camping ground, a track links to the Australian Alps Walking Track (AAWT) and it is a pleasant stroll of around 3.5km (70m up) to the Booroomba Rocks car park.  The track parallels a road and you could have driven there, but it's best to pretend it's not there.

From the car park, the track rises 1.2km and 200m to Booroomba Rocks.  There are splendid 180 degree views to the north.  Some of us climbed spot height 1353.

We returned along the same track, a total of around 9.2km.  A great group outing for varying capabilities.

Distance: 9.2km  Time: 10.40am-3.15pm, with 1 hour 10 minutes of stops.
