Getting There

This walk was organised and led by me as a private walk.

Walk

A quick little excursion to check out the exit from the Lower Molonglo River Corridor Nature Reserve to the Uriarra Road.

Then drove to the National Zoo and Aquarium to check out the nearby underpass under the Tuggeranong Parkway. Couldn't immediately see a way round the Zoo, so parked across the other side of Scrivener Dam. This in case we are shooed off Dairy Farmers Hill and have to low level via bike paths to Black Mountain. But a most interesting and fortuitous walk - bumped into a policeman doing a vehicle patrol in the pine trees (I pointed him to dumped mattresses and concrete blocks!), stalked by a jaguar (in the Zoo with two fences between him and me!) and ran into an arboretum ute who gave me a contact in the Chief Ministers Department to arrange arboretum circumnavigation.

An immediate about turn, home and a phone call and email. A positive response at 10.45pm (who said Public Servants don't serve the public) - thank you so much Ros R.

Distance: 5.9km  Climb: 100m.  Time: 11am - 12.30pm (1.5hrs), including 15mins driving.
Grading: S/E,X; VE(3)
