2 July 2012 Walks Planning evening

Maps: Whatever you bring

Getting There

This event was organised and led by Peter C and Linda G as a CBC event:

Monday evening 7.30pm 2 July - Walks Planning evening - S/E. Ever wished you could find someone who is a mine of information about a walk you would like to do? The walks planning evening is an opportunity to button-hole experienced leaders and discuss possible walks, with maps at hand. At Linda and Peter's house, Deakin. BYO maps, supper provided. RSVP. RSVPs not essential, but priority access to cheesecake with chocolate & ginger crust will be given to those who RSVP.

Further Information

Here is some other info which you are welcome to mention in your column if you think it's relevant, I was going to email something along these lines it out to those who RSVPd:

- if someone has a particular area they are seeking info on e.g. 'Diamond Creek, tributary of the Deua' or 'Hinchinbook Island' please let Linda know beforehand; she will consult with the Walks Secretary and Assistant Walks Secretary to try to identify someone who has walked there and contact them to ask that they bring any relevant maps they may have

- the planning evening includes planning for XC ski tours and canyons

- suggest people write their name on any paper maps they bring

- I could do with a few volunteers to bring some card tables and folding chairs

- this is a short easy activity, the walk up Peter and Linda's driveway has an elevation gain of 0.5 metres, though if you get off route there is some light scrub.

Event

An excellent event, with many attendees - and a great supper!
