Walk Description

This walk was led by me as a CBC promotional walk:

Friday morning 4 October: CANwalk Floriade 8am walk - S/E. CANwalk is an association of many Canberra walking groups, facilitated by the Heart Foundation. CBC is assisting in the conduct of a 45 minute early morning walk through Floriade, starting at 8am, on each morning of Floriade from Saturday 14 September to Sunday 13 October. Map: Canberra. Leader: John Evans - john@johnevans.id.au, 0417 436 877. Bookings are open to Club members and members of the public. Transport: drive yourself.

16 of us met at 8am near the Commonwealth Avenue Floriade traffic lights.

Track Notes

The National Heart Foundation runs 8am-9am pre-public gates open walks every day of Floriade. Walk leaders are drawn from various organisations, including participating member organisations of CANwalk. This year a few of us from the Canberra Bushwalking Club were involved.

A great opportunity to see the flowers without them being crowded out by people. A beautiful still Spring morning this morning, after a few days of blowing.

A convivial group.
