Track Notes

Great friends took me all the way round. The weather was kind to us too. Always pleasant to lap Lake Burley Griffin. So many out exercising – walkers, speed walkers, joggers, runners, bikers and, on the water, rowers, dragon boaters, kayakers, paddle boarders.

A wedding being prepared at the Chinese Gardens. Would have been a nice day for it.

We had morning tea on the concrete bench overlooking the Governer-General’s residence just after Scrivener Dam, then had a stop at the Museum of Australia cafe for a cool drink.

My preparation for the Cbr100Challenge is not going well. This would be the longest training walk I’ve done this year, whereas this time last year I’m sure we were doing 40s and 50s. How about perking up my purpose by donating to Beryl Womens Shelter for my walk?

The track was flat today. We managed to walk at 5.3km/hr overall (ie. including our breaks) and 5.6km/hr when we were walking. (Ignore the Elapsed Time, as I took the screen shot at 6.15pm at home.) So I should be able to plan on walking at 5km/hr on the day, for the first 5 to 6 hours:

Thanks for your company and pacing, Chris and Mike.
