Track Notes

Probably everyone in Canberra except me has visited the Mt Ainslie quarry. I’ve always heard of it but never really known where it is. Today the opportunity was there to visit it.

Parking at the first available car parking on the top of Mt Ainslie, I found a sign announcing the quarry. It was just a steep 5 minute walk down a well established footpad. Definitely NOT a place to visit at night time, you need to ensure you do a sharp left well before the top of the drop down into the quarry. The pad skirts down the side. Great views from the bottom up the wall.

To make a quick round, I continued down beside a gully towards Mt Ainslie Drive. Here there is a footpad which parallels the road back up to the top.

Most pleasant.
