Bronze plaque on cairn of cemented granodiorite surrounded by river pebbles set in concrete. Actual grave lies beneath the modern road. Source: D Kerr 16 March 1977. May also contain two children. Source E Tong 28 December 1977. Cairn is in very good order.; inscription reads “This cairn marks the resting place of Michael Herbert the first known settler in the district of Naas, who died about a hundred years ago.
