Documentation:

Geocache site GC3J1B1 No Despair: The garden was first established at the Hurdle Creek side in 1931 as a vegetable garden, it was converted in 1975 by Phillip Gilmour to commercially grow Camellias, Rhododendrons and Azaleas. By 1985 there were 600 camellias growing here. In 1988 when the Commonwealth resumed to entire property they payed a separate $16k to sell the camellias through the Yarralumla Nursery. The 2003 bush fire destroyed most of the gardens plants but they have come back a bit in recent years.
