Walk track

We headed W-ish through the Bruce Ridge NR, skirting a reservoir, then NW to Calvary Hospital. At some stage I realised that Proverbs 12:2 applied - "A lead without a dog is like a camera without a battery." Under the Gungahlin Drive Extension, the underpass contained interesting features - thanks very much to Brigitte T for the photo (and for her sister's explanation). See pic 1 - the run in the air is for possums and such like, the rock edged run is for lizards and other creepy crawlies and the log run on the other side of the concrete path for humans is for things that prefer to run along logs. Very thoughtful. Along the NW side of the GDE for a while, then back under at the hideous 'community art'. E-ish for a while.

Then a leg NE up the O'Connor Ridge NR to Ginninderra Drive and a U-turn to come SW above Dryandra St (passing around the old tip) back to the cars.

Another typical Canberra urban ridge, dry eucalypt forest. Riddled with management trails and mountain bike tracks. Yet pleasant to wander around, with other runners and bikers using it in the evening. Always good company on Stan's walks.

Distance: 6.8km  Climb: 150m.  Time: 6.35 - 8.15pm (call it 1hr45mins).
Grading: S/E; E(5)
