Track Castle Hill

A classic little heart-starting ramble, repeated most years by the Hs. Last time I did it was 6 Aug 06 and 11 Sep 05.

With permission from the landowner, we crossed his fence using a step ladder, after walking a couple of hundred metres up the road. Very elegant (and very sensible).

Then a puff up the hill, finally breaking onto the grazed grass at the top, with the wonderful nearby 'tooth tors'. We poured the thermos and boiled the billy and enjoyed a convivial time on top. Lovely views down to the greening paddocks and into Canberra's southern suburbs.

A short shower on the way down did nothing to dampen our enthusiasm.

Thanks Rob, as always, a classic ramble. And thanks to Ailsa B, Jenny A, Jenny H, Julia T, Lorraine T, Nathan H, Ross A and Sal O.

Distance: 3.2km Climb: 320nm. Time: 1.25 - 3.35pm (2hrs 10mins), with 25mins of stops.
Grading: S/M; E(7)
