Getting There

This walk was organised and led by Alison M, co-led by me, as a CBC walk:

Thursday evening 6 December - Southside evening stroll - Kambah Pool to Red Rocks Gorge - S/E. I'm wanting a new walk leader to lead a walk with me. How about it - contact me and have a go! For walkers joining this amble, meet outside the boom gate at the top of Kambah Pool at 6pm. No need to book. We'll wander down the Murrumbidgee River Corridor to Red Rocks Gorge. Around 8km and 50m climb. Map: Tuggeranong. Enquiries to: John Evans - john@johnevans.id.au, 0417 436 877. Transport: drive yourself.

15 of us gathered. My mistake, no closing hours, but we still parked outside the entrance grid.

Walk - Track Notes

Alison sorted us out with a great introduction round and walk briefing. We walked down the road to the signposted start of the track. I was appointed tail.

A pleasant walk, stopping at the lookout. Several of the party had not been here before. Then on to opposite Red Rocks Gorge, but not enough time to go down to the Murrumbidgee River bank in the shade for a closer look and to take photos. Great to catch up and chat with old and new friends. Alison had chocolate!

Back the same way.

Thanks to Alison M. And to Jeff B, Jenny C, Julie Anne C, Virginia D, Robert D, Paul E, Marina F, Steven H(?), Nathan H, Chris M, Quentin M, Phillip S and Steven S.

Distance: 6.9km Climb: 100m. Time: 6.05 - 8.10pm (2hrs 5mins), with 5mins of stops.
Grading: S/E; E(5)
