Track Notes

A well chosen time to commence this walk. Pretty sun-tinged clouds as we drove out. Parked at the car park a few hundred metres up Apollo Rd from the start of the Mt Tennent Fire Trail. Wandered down that and across the ford of Honeysuckle Creek then, surprising most of us, down off the fire trail, across Booroomba Creek and commenced to climb the spur towards SH777 )"to keep us from trudging up the fire trail"). Rob gave credit where it's due - seems we have Kaza to thank for this route up the spur.

Quite pleasant, open in places, a footpad/animal track a lot of the way. A bit of huff and puff up the steeper bit from 800-950m contour. Gained the Mt Tennent Fire Trail, 50m NW back along it, then cut the corner through open bush down to the S end of open Bushfold Flats. Morning tea at the rebuilt Bushfold Hut.

A nice stroll N up Bushfold Flats, then onto the AAWT alignment (rerouted since the 2003 fires, so not the same as on the current edn Williamsdale 1:25000 topographic map). It trundles up the flank of the ridge coming N off Mt Tennent. Regrouped at the T-intersection.

Then down the AAWT to the Namadgi Visitors Centre. Passed about 10 people coming up.

Retrieved the cars, all home by 12.30pm.

Thanks Rob and Jen and others - a nice stroll before the full heat of the day.
